Advanced Auto Repair Zone, 190-20 99th Ave, Hollis, NY 11423 ("we", "us") runs this website at advancedautorepairzone.com. This page explains what information we collect, why, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- When you book or contact us: your name, phone number, email address, the service you want, your preferred date, and any message or vehicle details you give us.
- When you create an account: your mobile number (verified with a code we text you) or, if you choose Sign in with Google, the name and email address on your Google account. We do not receive your Google password.
- When we repair your vehicle: your vehicle details (such as make, model, year and VIN), estimates, inspection notes and photos, invoices, and payment records (amount and method).
- Text messages: the messages we send to you and the replies you send to us, and whether you opted out.
- When you check in at our shop tablet: the name, phone number, email (optional) and vehicle problem you enter.
- Security information: our forms use hCaptcha to tell people from robots, and we count requests from an internet address to stop abuse.
How we use it
- To schedule, quote, repair and bill for your vehicle, and to contact you about it.
- To send booking confirmations, estimates, inspection reports, invoices, "your car is ready" texts, and (if you have used our service) occasional follow-up, review-request and loyalty-reward messages.
- To keep our website and your account secure and to prevent spam.
We do not sell your personal information.
Card payments
When you pay online, you type your card details on the secure payment page of our payment provider, Dejavoo. Your card number is never sent to or stored on our website or server.
Who we share it with
We use trusted companies to run the service, and they only receive what they need: Twilio (text messages), Google (email delivery, Sign in with Google, and storage of encrypted backups), Dejavoo (card payments), hCaptcha (spam protection), and our database and server hosting providers. We may also share information when the law requires it.
Google user data
If you sign in with Google, we receive only your name and email address, and we use them only to sign you in and recognize your account. Our shop also connects one Google account to store encrypted backups of our own records in a folder created by this website; this uses the Google Drive "drive.file" permission, which only lets the website see the files it created itself. We do not read other files in that Drive.
Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Text messages
We send texts only about your visit, your account, and (if you are a customer) service reminders and review requests. Reply STOP at any time to stop receiving texts, and START to receive them again. Message and data rates may apply.
How long we keep it
We keep service and payment records for as long as we need them to serve you and to meet legal and tax requirements. Nightly backups of our records are encrypted and older copies are removed automatically.
How we protect it
This website uses https. Our staff accounts are limited by role, and mechanics cannot see prices or customers' contact details. Backups are encrypted before they leave our server.
Your choices
You can ask us to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or stop emails and texts, by contacting us below. We may need to keep some records that the law requires.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new date.
